Put a team to work

Group employees into a team with a lead, and give the team a job.

About 4 min

When you finish, two or more employees will share one conversation as a team, and the team’s lead will have taken on a job you posted.

Before you begin

You need at least two employees. To add one, see Hire an employee.

Create the team

  1. In the sidebar, click + next to Teams (New team).
  2. Select the employees for the team.
  3. Next to the employee who should run the work, choose Lead.
  4. Type a Team name. You can also say what the team is for.
  5. Click Create team.

Give the team a job

  1. In Message the team, describe the job and the result you want. For example: “Prepare the weekly update for our customers. Collect what shipped, draft the email, and send me the draft.”
  2. Send the message. The lead takes it and hands parts to the others. The work happens in the team’s conversation.
  3. To ask one member directly, type @ and choose their name.
  4. To ask every member, type @everyone.

A post that names nobody goes to the lead. If the team has no lead, every member reads it. To change the team, click Edit team. To remove it, right-click the team in the sidebar and choose Remove team.
